TAXI STRIKE

The National taxi association and the Government has not yet come to an
agreement yet , after they gave Government a week to respond to they
questions on whether jobs will be lost when the BRT system is in full
operation for the 2010 world cup and beyond. Government spokesperson Larry
Boma has said that 95% of commuters as urged that taxi's be faced out for
the new BRT. Taxi operators has warned that are going to proceed on calling
for a national strike throughout the country in all major cities and also
warned that no operations will take place including no private vehicles will
be allowed to move for the whole week of next week from the 06/04/09 to the
10/04/09.

Government says that they will use all means possible to stop vandalism from
criminals by deploying the NDFSA, SAPS, METRO POLICE AND SWAT TEAM. All
commuters are here warned not to place their lives on the spell by forcing
to go to work if taxi's took the streets next week as they will make a
public announcement to Businesses not to take action if workers are not at
work.
